A Winter Haiku

The first day of the new year 2016. Usually by now in eastern Pa there has  at least been snow flurries. Just last week the temperature nearly reached the 70 degree mark. Records have been blown away.  The weather is weird.

I am missing the cold days of winter. Not because I like snow, but because it is the order of things in this area.

If people are confused about the weather so are the plants, the birds and the insects. And we need them to live on this earth.

When I looked out the window I saw daffodils pushing up in January! This typically happens in February or March. Sigh. It inspired me to write a haiku poem. My first.

How is the weather where you live?  Is it relatively normal or a bit strange?
